Playground Replacement Project

June 22, 2017

We have very good news to report on our playground replacement project.

Our PAC has been able to reach its fundraising goals, thanks to parent participation in all of our fundraisers.  We have also been approved to receive a playground grant through the Corporation of Delta.

We have planned for a community installation date of Saturday, August 19, 2017.   In the weeks leading up to that date, the old wooden playground will be removed from the back of the school.  The site will be prepared for the installation of a new, larger playground that was designed with input from students from Gray.  We will have the playground pieces delivered to the school in the week leading up to Saturday, August 19, 2017.

On that Saturday, we will have a supervisor on site from Habitat Systems and he will coordinate the build of the playground.  We will be looking for parent and community volunteers to assist with building/erecting the playground.  Due to the size of the playground, they have asked for 25 volunteers to work from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

If you are available to assist with this exciting project, please send your contact information to Sandra Baumeister at  Even if you are unsure of your availability but would like to be considered for part of the day, please provide that information also.

Habitat Systems will be looking for us to supply building equipment (shovels, hammers, etc.) on the day of the build.  If you feel that you could loan some equipment, please provide your name and then we will send out a list of items that we will be looking for. We will make sure all equipment is labelled and returned to the owner.

Please, if you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact Sandra Baumeister by email or by phone at 604-789-7043.
