Registration for Kindergarten for September 2023

Resources to help parents prepare their child for Kindergarten

A child may be registered to attend Kindergarten in September if his or her fifth birthday occurs on or before December 31st of the current year.

Children whose fifth birthday falls on or before December 31, 2023 are eligible to enter Kindergarten in September 2023.  The online application process for registration for the 2023-2024 school year will be held from February 13-24, 2023, starting at 8:30 am. The link will be available here on February 13th.

This year families will have a few options to them to apply for Kindergarten.

ON LINE

Please have the following documents ready to upload with your child’s online application (all documents must be received for registration to be accepted):

  1. Proof of birth date for the student (birth certificate or passport)
  2. Proof of citizenship for both the parent and the student (Canadian birth certificate, citizenship card, passport, landed immigrant document, permanent resident card).
  3. BC Services Card (please include both sides of this card)
  4. Proof of Residency (Property Taxes – current receipt, purchase/rental agreement or rental receipt). Please note additional documentation may be requested.

The office will process your child’s application as soon as possible. Then the office staff will follow up with parents on additional documents that are needed, such as the Registration Form, Parent Declaration Form and the Student Emergency Release Form.

IN PERSON

You may come in to the school office anytime between 10:00 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. to register your child in person.

In order to speed up the processing time on this date it would be a great idea if you filled out the Student Registration Form, Parent Declaration Form and the Student Emergency Release forms found below and had copies of the required documents with you:

  1. Proof of birth date for the student (birth certificate or passport)
  2. Proof of citizenship for both the parent and the student (Canadian birth certificate, citizenship card, passport, landed immigrant document, permanent resident card).
  3. BC Services Card (please include both sides of this card)

If you are unable to register to come to the school in person registrations we will accept registrations by email.

Please scan and email the completed Student Registration Form, Parent Declaration Form and the Student Emergency Release Form, along with copies of your required documents, to  gray.elem@deltaschools.ca

If further documentation is required, an appointment may need to be scheduled.

Incomplete information and documents will delay the registration process. Please ensure that all documents included with your child’s registration are legible.

Registration for Grades 1 to 7 for September 2023

Gray is pleased to accept applications from families and students residing within our catchment area for the 2023/2024 school year beginning February 6, 2023.  Due to the growth of our school population over the last several years, we are no longer able to accept registrations from families residing out of our catchment area.  For verification of your catchment area school, please contact the School Board Office at 604-952-5345 or 604-952-5346 or check the School Locator.

Please call the school to make an in person appointment to register your child.  Alternatively, Please email your registration documents to gray.elem@deltaschools.ca  If further documentation is required, an appointment may need to be scheduled. 

Please scan and email the completed Student Registration Form, Parent Declaration Form and the Student Emergency Release Form, along with copies of your required documents, to our Administrative Assistant, Barb Turner at gray.elem@deltaschools.ca   These forms are all fillable.  If you do not have a digital signature, please print and sign them and then scan and attach all 3 forms to your email.
