Grade 7 to Grade 8 Transition

In order to streamline the non-catchment/non-district process the District is continuing to allow
grade 7 students to be automatically approved to their current school’s feeder high school.  This should hopefully eliminate the need for parents to “stand in line” to resubmit new non-catchment/non-district applications.

All continuing Grade 7 Students currently attending Gray will automatically be entered in our system with the next year high school as Sands Secondary School.  If your child is currently attending Gray on an approved non-catchment or non-district application, you do not need to submit a new application in order for your child to attend Sands.  However, if you now wish your child to attend your catchment high school instead of Sands, please call the school to inform us as soon as possible, and preferably no later than January 25, 2021.  This will allow us to make the necessary changes to your child’s records.

If you live in the Sands catchment area and you would like your child to attend a different high school then you will have to submit a non-catchment application form to the high school of your choosing.  Non-Catchment applications for the 2021/2022 school year will be accepted online only commencing February 1, 2021 at 8:30 a.m.  The online forms will be available on the District Website at: https://www.deltasd.bc.ca/schools/student-registration/non-catchment/
